RVR Backstage Day 2 – Monday

What a first full day of camp! Don't miss Sparrow's intro about the WHY behind all we do...

Monday is all about new beginnings. For many kids, last night may have been their first night away from home, and for everyone, a little homesickness can be setting in. Counselors are keenly in tune with their campers, and mealtimes on that first day are an opportunity to start to build relationships, to help campers feel welcome and loved. 

Here's what that looks like from a parent’s perspective “my children came home with memories of what might seem like little things at the time, like someone really listening to them or staying with them when they were nervous, or someone in their corner when they felt lost.” 

During services, campers learn about the first “beginning” – creation, and how God made humans to come alive physically and spiritually, designing us for relationship with Him in this life and eternity.  

And nature! Campers begin experiencing God’s creation: playing in the creeks, hiking to the zipline, and riding horses.

Then there’s Adventure camp! These campers are immersed in nature, the outdoors, and fall asleep each night in tents under the stars. And nature is also an important part of Day Camp – which you're going to see in today's tour!

Every part of the RVR program has purpose – and it's amazing how God uses every moment to draw campers to Him. In today's Backstage tour, you'll also meet some of our TNT teen discipleship program leaders and team members. These amazing young people are the backbone of a week of camp!
